Monmouth University is proud to announce that Alison Hoffman, (Marlboro, NJ) who received her Master of Social Work degree in May 2011 worked with the staff of Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Foundation to successfully secure funding for a grant proposal submitted to the Toys\u201cR\u201dUs Children\u2019s Fund for its New Jersey grant initiative.<\/p>\n
While completing her Grant Writing course with Dr. Henry King at Monmouth University, Ms. Hoffman served as a social work intern at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and was able to work with the staff of their foundation office to submit a grant proposal called the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Patient Family Transportation Project. The project is designed to improve children\u2019s long-term developmental outcomes and strengthen families by providing bus tickets to those parents otherwise unable to visit their hospitalized babies.<\/p>\n
The Toys\u201dR\u201dUs Children\u2019s Fund announced last week that they will be funding $15,000 toward the project in response to the 2011 New Jersey grant initiative. Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Foundation was one of 54 organizations selected from a pool of more than 500 proposals from charities from across the state requesting funding.
