Monmouth University is delighted to present the fourth season of National Theatre Live (NT Live)<\/em>, a successful initiative to broadcast live performances from the National Theatre of London\u2019s stages to cinemas and arts centers worldwide. Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Ph\u00e9dre<\/em> starring Helen Mirren, more than 750,000 people have now experienced the National\u2019s work on movie and theater screens worldwide.<\/p>\n

In addition to Mirren\u2019s unforgettable performance as Ph\u00e9dre<\/em>, NT Live audiences around the globe have been treated to Rory Kinnear\u2019s acclaimed performance as Hamlet, Jonny Lee Miller & Benedict Cumberbatch\u2019s Best Actor Olivier award winning performances as Frankenstein & the Creature, James Corden\u2019s Tony-winning performance in One Man, Two Guvnors<\/em> and many more.<\/p>\n

Season four promises some equally impressive actors and exciting new works. Being broadcast on Thursday, September 20 at 7 p.m.<\/strong>, Mark Haddon\u2019s beloved and award winning novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time<\/em> has been adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens. Marianne Elliott (War Horse<\/em>) directs this richly theatrical exploration of Haddon\u2019s touching and bleakly humorous story. The cast includes Niamh Cusack, Nick Sidi, Una Stubbs, Luke Treadaway, Nicola Walker.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, October 18 at 7 p.m.<\/strong> Stephen Beresford\u2019s new play The Last of the Haussmans<\/em> will be broadcast live from London. Directed by Howard Davies, the play examines the fate of the 1960s revolutionary generation and offers a funny, touching and at times savage portrait of a family full of longing that\u2019s losing its grip. The cast includes Rory Kinnear, Matthew Marsh, Helen McCrory, and Julie Walters.<\/p>\n

Broadcast on Thursday, November 1 at 7 p.m.,<\/strong> Simon Russell Beale takes the title role in Timon of Athens<\/em>, Shakespeare\u2019s strange fable of conspicuous consumption, debt and ruin, written in collaboration with Thomas Middleton, directed by Nicholas Hytner.<\/p>\n

All of these broadcasts will be shown on one of the area\u2019s largest HD screens at the Pollak Theatre on Monmouth University campus\u2019s convenient location with free parking.
