The Kortney Rose Foundation (KRF) raises awareness and research funding for pediatric brain tumors. To purchase tickets, visit www.gomuhawks.com.

The KRF will be making its annual donation presentation before the game to representatives from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). This donation will be the KRF’s largest to date and will bring its five-year cumulative donation to CHOP’s pediatric brain tumor research program to over $500,000. Information tables with KRF wristbands and a donation receptacle will be set up in the MAC.

Kristen Gillette, Kortney’s mom and the founder/president of the KRF as well as a secretary in the Department of Political Science and Sociology at Monmouth University, said, “I was contacted by Meg Tarrant, director of basketball operations for Monmouth University, who told me that she had read about our foundation and was touched by Kortney’s story and the fact that she loved basketball. I was thrilled to hear the news that the women’s basketball team wanted to devote a game to the foundation in Kortney’s honor and to help raise awareness about our cause.”

The Kortney Rose Foundation (KRF) is a 501(c)(3) organization that was set up by Kortney’s mom as a way to channel her grief after losing 9-year-old Kortney to a rare brain tumor called brain stem glioma. The foundation hopes to make a difference in the fight to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for pediatric brain tumors, thus creating Kortney’s legacy of helping other children with brain tumors through the promise of research. The foundation’s fundraising efforts will directly benefit the pediatric brain tumor research being done at CHOP.

Please visit www.thekortneyrosefoundation.org for more information or to make a donation.

[212,179
[17,11
["post-32212263932","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-giving-back","category-the-oceanfirst-bank-center","audience-community-member","audience-current-student
["GET
