Monmouth University will host \u201cCombat to Campus,\u201d an interactive workshop addressing the challenges veterans face when transitioning from the military to college campus, on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10 a.m. in\u00a0Wilson Hall Auditorium.\u00a0 The event is free and open to the public. <\/p>\n
MU veteran faculty, students, and counselors will answer questions such as:<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What are the unique needs of veteran students?<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What advantages\/disadvantages do we face as veterans?<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What are some of the roadblocks we face when transitioning to college?<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 What are some common misconceptions about military service?<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 How do we relate to other college students, faculty, & administrators?<\/p>\n
\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Where do society and the college campus succeed or fall short from our perspective?<\/p>\n
In addition, audience members will be given the opportunity to ask questions.<\/p>\n
