Adapted by Stephen Schwartz (<em>Wicked, Pippin, <\/em>and<em> Godspell<\/em>) from his original version with Nino Faso, the new <em>Working<\/em> recently completed a run in Chicago. Monmouth\u2019s production will be the first by any university in the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">Directed by Nicole Ricciardi, <em>Working<\/em> is the working man\u2019s <em>A Chorus Line<\/em>. A musical exploration of twenty-six people from all walks of life, with songs by all-star composers Craig Carnelia (<em>Sweet Smell of Success<\/em>), Micki Grant (<em>Don\u2019t Bother Me, I Can\u2019t Cope<\/em>), Tony Award-winning Lin-Manuel Miranda (<em>In the Heights<\/em>), Mary Rodgers (<em>Once Upon A Mattress<\/em>), Susan Birkenhead (<em>Jelly\u2019s Last Jam<\/em>), Stephen Schwartz, and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, James Taylor.\u00a0 The musical director is George Wurzbach.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\"><em>Working<\/em> celebrates everyday people in a genuinely funny and touching way, and has been called \u201cthe perfect musical for everyone who has ever worked a day in their lives.\u201d Updated to fit 21<sup>st<\/sup> century audiences, cast members sing and dance with cell phones and laptops as they tell the tales of traditional careers: teacher, waitress, firefighter; and more modern additions: hedge fund manager, UPS delivery man, and a customer service representative in India.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">Performances will take place in the Lauren K. Woods Theatre, located at the intersection of Norwood and Cedar Avenue on the Monmouth University campus.
