West Long Branch, NJ (January 18, 2012) Monmouth University has been awarded $50,000 for student scholarships by the OceanFirst Foundation of Toms River.\u00a0 The grant provides scholarships for tuition, fees, and books for full-time freshmen who graduated from high schools in Monmouth and Ocean County.\u00a0Scholarship recipients will each receive $2,500 awards.<\/p>\n
President Gaffney stated: \u201cThank you to the OceanFirst Foundation for its generous support of Monmouth University and higher education. The scholarships help many exceptional students from the local area to achieve their dream of a college education.\u201d<\/p>\n
This is the second year that Monmouth University has participated in the scholarship program and has received $100,000 in total toward the scholarship program.<\/p>\n
