Monmouth University and the West Side Christian Academy (WSCA) will present the 2012 National African American Read-in on Monday, February 6, from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.\u00a0 The event is free and open to the public and will be held in Monmouth University\u2019s Student Center, Anacon Hall.<\/p>\n
Students, teachers, parents, elected officials, and friends will join the National African American Read-In and read literature written by African-American authors.\u00a0\u00a0 The event focuses attention on literacy during Black History Month.<\/p>\n
For twelve years, WSCA has participated in the National African American Read-In.\u00a0 This year over 200 people are expected to participate.<\/p>\n
Readings will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.<\/p>\n
Students from West Side Christian Academy, Asbury Park Middle School, and Red Bank Regional High School will read during the event.\u00a0 In addition, the following elected officials and community leaders will participate:<\/p>\n
