Eligibility for education benefits is determined by the Department of Veteran Affairs and can take up to 4 weeks to be processed. Please upload the Certificate of Eligibility (COE) into the admissions portal or send directly to the School Certifying Official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>*Please note: <\/em><\/strong><em>Students using VR&amp;E will not have a COE and must provide either their Decision Letter and\/or VR&amp;E Counselor name and contact information to the School Certifying Official.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-in-page\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.va.gov\/education\/apply-for-education-benefits\/application\/5490\/confirmation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apply for VA Education Benefits<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"request-for-certification\">Request for Certification<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Students can only be certified for VA approved education programs which can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/inquiry.vba.va.gov\/weamspub\/buildSearchInstitutionCriteria.do\">WEAMS<\/a> website. Students will complete a \u201c<em>Request for Certification<\/em>\u201d once they\u2019ve registered for classes. This will be emailed to students throughout the academic year and can be found via the portal under e-forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the \u201c<em>Request for Certification<\/em>\u201d form is received, the School Certifying Official will submit your enrollment to the VA. An electronic notification from Enrollment Manager will be sent to students via email once the request is submitted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-in-page\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/etcentral.monmouth.edu\/#\/form\/524\">Submit Your Request for Certification<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"reporting-enrollment-changes\">Reporting Enrollment Changes<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Please ensure to notify the School Certifying Official of any changes to schedules or enrollment in a timely manner as it must be reported to the VA.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"verification-of-enrollment\">Verification of Enrollment<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Students utilizing VA Education benefits for CH33 &#8211; <strong>Post 9\/11 GI Bill\u00ae<\/strong> will receive a text message\/email directly from the VA at the end of each month asking to verify student\u2019s enrollment. Failure to respond for 2 consecutive months will result in a pause in releasing the student\u2019s Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) funds. Students must directly contact the VA for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Inquiries should be directed to the Education Hotline, <strong>888-GIBILL-1<\/strong> (888-442-4551).<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"called-to-duty\">Called to Duty<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"drilltraining-orders\">Drill\/Training Orders<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Students serving in the Guard or Reserve components may have drill or annual training to attend that may interrupt scheduled class times. Performing this training does not absolve the student of their responsibilities to complete assigned work but students are expected to inform their professors of their required military training with enough notice. You may request an official letter from the Office of Veteran Services to be sent to faculty regarding required military training once substantiating documents have been submitted such as<em>; official orders, job letters, memorandums, training schedules, etc<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"activated-or-mobilized-for-deployment\">Activated or Mobilized for Deployment<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Students currently serving in Active, Guard, or Reserve components may be called to duty at a moment\u2019s notice and we want to help students navigate their options. The following policies and procedures apply to military personnel called to a period of 30 or more consecutive days of service (ex: Active duty or\/training) in order to minimize disruptions or inconveniences for Monmouth University students fulfilling their military responsibilities. Although, there is no deadline for notification, students are encouraged to provide the office with as much notice as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-in-page\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/military-students\/documents\/2018\/10\/military-policies.pdf\/\">Military Service Withdrawal and Re-entry Policy and Procedure<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Certificate of Eligibility Students interested in using VA education benefits must first apply online.
