The Monmouth University Center for the Arts is pleased to welcome Kevin Young<\/strong><\/a> \u2014acclaimed poet and editor. Young will be reading excerpts from his work and signing of his latest work, Go<\/em>, <\/em>on, Tuesday, April 2 at 4:30 pm in the Great Hall Auditorium<\/strong>. Kevin Young<\/strong> is the Director of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and is widely regarded as one of the leading poets of his generation. Young is also poetry editor at The New Yorker. <\/em>Also an editor, essayist, and curator, Young\u2019s ten books of poetry include: Blue Laws: Selected & Uncollected Poems 1995-2015<\/em>, longlisted for the National Book Award; Book of Hours<\/em>; Ardency: A Chronicle of the Amistad Rebels<\/em>, winner of an American Book Award; Dear Darkness<\/em>; For the Confederate Dead<\/em>; Black Maria<\/em>; To Repel Ghosts<\/em>; Jelly Roll: a blues<\/em>, a finalist for the National Book Award and Los Angeles Times <\/em>Book Prize and winner of the Paterson Poetry Prize; and Most Way Home<\/em>, winner of the National Poetry Series and the Zacharis First Book Award. His newest book of poetry is Brown<\/em>. Young is the editor of eight volumes, including The Collected Poems of Lucille Clifton 1965 \u2013 2010<\/em>; The Hungry Ear: Poems of Food & Drink<\/em>; The Best American Poetry 2011<\/em>; and The Art of Losing: Poems of Grief & Healing<\/em>, one hundred and fifty devastatingly beautiful contemporary elegies that embrace the pain, heartbreak, and healing stages of mourning. Young\u2019s poetry and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, New York Times Book Review, Kenyon Review, Ploughshares<\/em>, and Callaloo. <\/em><\/p>\n
