Class Schedule: Thursdays – Mar. 2, Mar. 9 & Mar. 16 | 7:30 – 9:00 PM
This three-session virtual course taught by Russell Reising will examine some of the ways in which popular music and film from the mid-1960s to the present embodies many of the insights, ideas, and emotions generated by experiences with psychedelic substances(i.e., LSD, magic mushrooms, MDMA, and others). We will explore individual songs, individual performers, individual albums, and some of the primary themes common to psychedelic culture, including, but not limited to, altered states of mind and perception, commonalities with religious/spiritual experience, the self’s relation to nature and the cosmos. Instructor and class will be encouraged to share their own experiences and ideas.
Zoom Link will be provided upon registration.
