Bringing home the hardware <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The track and field teams won their fifth straight MAAC titles, women\u2019s soccer won its third straight MAAC title, field hockey won its third MAAC title in five years, and for the first time in program history, the softball team won the MAAC tournament championship.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #002855;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #004b97;\">15. Increasing diversity<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Monmouth\u2019s student body is more diverse than ever, both ethnically and geographically, and a new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/diversifying-monmouths-faculty-through-partnerships\/\">Mentorship Program<\/a> is diversifying the faculty and increasing cross-cultural exposure and experience among faculty and students.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #69b3e7;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #004b97;\">13. Christening a new research vessel<\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The 49-foot R\/V <em>Heidi Lynn Sculthorpe<\/em> provides researchers with an array of state-of-the-art technologies. The IHW\u2019s launch<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Monmouth\u2019s new Institute for Health and Wellness, which debuted in September, will be a forum for education, research and collaboration on issues of human health and wellness delivered through scholarship, supported programs, community engagement, and local partnerships.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #004b97;\"><strong>11. Rocking the vote<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Monmouth University <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/monmouth-wins-2018-new-jersey-ballot-bowl\/\">won its conference<\/a> in the 2018 New Jersey Ballot Bowl by registering the most voters through multiple events and classroom visits across campus.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #004b97;\">10. Your generosity on Giving Tuesday<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Alumni, parents, students, employees, and friends raised approximately $23,000 on November 27, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/new-record-set-for-giving-tuesday\/\">setting a new record<\/a> for Giving Tuesday at Monmouth University.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #004b97;\"><strong>8. Cutting the ribbon on Edison<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In February, we celebrated the official reopening of the renovated and expanded Edison Science Building, and if you haven\u2019t seen the new space yet, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/magazine\/open-for-discovery\/\">you need to check it out<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #69b3e7;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #004b97;\">7. Cutting the rug with President Dimenna<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>From the steps of Wilson (below) to the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/monmouthu\/status\/1071040811607961600\">stage in Lauren K. How our garden grew<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This year, more than 1,400 pounds of produce grown in <a href=\"https:\/\/rmama1.wixsite.com\/monmouthugarden\">The Virginia A. Cory Community Garden at Monmouth University<\/a> was donated to local organizations and Monmouth County individuals and families dealing with food insecurity.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #004b97;\"><strong>5. Togetherness<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/university-advancement\/together\/\">Together We Can: The Campaign for Scholarship<\/a> was announced publicly in October, and as of this month is already more than two-thirds of the way to achieving the goal of raising $15 million in scholarship funds for Monmouth students by June 30, 2019.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #004b97;\"><strong>4. National acclaim<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Monmouth was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/magazine\/campus-briefs-fall-2018\/\">named one of <em>Money<\/em> magazine\u2019s<\/a> best colleges this year based on affordability, educational quality, and alumni success.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span style=\"color: #004b97;\">2. The new hawk on campus<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Standing tall outside of the OceanFirst Bank Center, Monmouth University welcomed a new point of pride: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/theres-a-new-hawk-in-town\/\"><em>The Hawk at Brockriede Common<\/em><\/a>, which was created by world-renowned sculptor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/magazine\/larger-than-life\/\">Brian Hanlon \u201988<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #004b97;\">1. Welcoming our next president<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>On Dec. 14, the Monmouth University Board of Trustees announced that Patrick F.
