Lucky for us, Stafford shared the recipe. Bon appetit.<\/p>\n<h2>Presidential Waffles<\/h2>\n<h3>Ingredients:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>3 eggs separated<\/li>\n<li>1 and 1\/2 cup flour<\/li>\n<li>2 t baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 t baking soda<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 stick butter<\/li>\n<li>1 and 3\/4 cup buttermilk or half buttermilk and half sour cream<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat Belgian waffle iron sprayed with butter.<\/li>\n<li>Beat egg whites until fluffy but not dry.<\/li>\n<li>Mix flour and baking powder and soda and sugar in electric mixer bowl.<\/li>\n<li>Add egg yolks and buttermilk and mix.<\/li>\n<li>Add butter melted and mix all together.<\/li>\n<li>Fold in beaten egg whites and pour by spoonfuls into waffle iron. Bake until golden brown.
