{"id":16192,"date":"2023-01-09T11:13:19","date_gmt":"2023-01-09T16:13:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/magazine\/?p=16192"},"modified":"2023-01-09T11:15:27","modified_gmt":"2023-01-09T16:15:27","slug":"back-on-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/magazine\/back-on-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"Back on Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Robert Santelli \u201973, \u201914HN was appointed executive director of the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth in October. In this new role, Santelli oversees the Springsteen Archives and works to create programs, exhibits, and collaborations with music museums and universities around the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Grammy Award\u2013winning music historian, producer, and educator, Santelli was the founding executive director of the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles. He is the author of more than a dozen books on American music, including the <em>New York Times <\/em>bestseller <em>Greetings from E Street: The Story of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band<\/em>. His recent book, <em>Woody Guthrie: Songs and Art, Words and Wisdom<\/em>, co-authored with his good friend Nora Guthrie, received the 2022 Deems Taylor\/Virgil Thomson Book Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A longtime music journalist, Santelli was one of the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame\u2019s original curators and served as vice president of education and public programs before moving on to head Paul Allen\u2019s Experience Music Project in Seattle.
