Zaneta Rago-Craft<\/strong>, Ed.D., is the founding Director of the Intercultural Center and Advisor to the President for Diversity and Inclusion. Previously, Dr. Z served as the Director for the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities at Rutgers University\u2013New Brunswick. Originally from Long Branch, New Jersey, Dr. Z graduated in 2010 from the Ramapo College of New Jersey with a bachelor\u2019s degree in history and women and gender studies and a master\u2019s degree from New York University in higher education and student affairs administration in 2012. She also holds an Ed.D. in education, culture, and society from Rutgers University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Z has worked in intercultural campus support for the last 15 years, including previous roles with the New York University LGBTQ Student Center, the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs at NYU, and Ramapo College\u2019s Educational Opportunity Fund program and Women\u2019s Center. She has a passion for infusing social justice education into her student affairs work with a particular interest in facilitating conversations around the intersectionality of multiple identities and oppression, art as activism, feminism, anti-racism, mentoring, LGBTQIA+ representations in the media, and multiracial experiences in a \u201ccheck one box\u201d world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jihad B. Johnson<\/strong>, M.S.Ed., is the Assistant Director of the Intercultural Center. Previously, Jihad served as an Undergraduate Admission Counselor working with prospective first-year students at Monmouth. Jihad is originally from East Orange, New Jersey where he grew up as the youngest of 6 children. Jihad graduated from Monmouth University in 2018 with a bachelor\u2019s degree in communication with a concentration in public relations and journalism and in 2020 graduated with a master\u2019s degree in educational counseling with a concentration in student affairs and college counseling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jihad is no stranger to Monmouth University community where others would like to say he was involved in \u201ceverything\u201d as a student.  As a Black man coming from a low-income, disadvantaged background Jihad knows first-hand the challenges students from underrepresented backgrounds face when coming to college, which is where he developed his passion for working with college students. The support he received as an undergraduate and graduate student allowed him to grasp a firm belief in the concept of \u201cpaying it forward\u201d which means helping the next generation reach their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amir Gallashaw<\/strong> is the Program Coordinator of the Intercultural Center. Amir is a multidisciplinary creative and higher education professional with a deep passion for leadership, and community empowerment. Raised in Monroe Township, New Jersey, with family roots in Camden, Philadelphia, and Barbados, he draws inspiration from the diverse experiences and resilience of his background. Guided by the principle, Sankofa, which signifies \u201cto go back and fetch it\u201d, Amir believes in learning from the past to build a stronger future. He plans to continue to use his skills to uplift others and create lasting impact within his community.  He has been a portrait photographer since 2017 and creative contributor for entertainment companies, KOI Event Group and the Cultr Crew, Amir has worked on a variety of artistic projects that merge authenticity and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond his creative work, Amir is a proud Brother of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, and crossed into his organization in the semester of Fall 2021. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Business Analytics from Kean University and is currently pursuing his MBA in Data Analytics at the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). Amir\u2019s primary passion lies in professional and leadership development for students, teaching them to become trendsetters in the communities they are a part of. He believes those who harness their strengths and intangible gifts to lead with love, community, and intentionality will be the ones to create everlasting change.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
