Employee Recognition Awards, BBQ, & President’s Cup – June 9

As President Leahy noted at his most recent open call, we are pleased to welcome all employees to our annual awards and recognition event honoring 2020 and 2021 retirees, employees celebrating milestone years of service, and this year’s distinguished faculty and staff award recipients on Wednesday, June 9 at 11 a.m. at Kessler Stadium.

Immediately following the recognition event in Kessler Stadium, all employees are invited to a celebratory barbecue lunch beginning at noon. Then, at 1:30 p.m., the President’s Cup – hosted by the Athletics Department and Employee Activity Committee – returns for its 15th outing, with the Bocce/Baggo competition held on Kessler Field.

You are encouraged to participate in these festivities, but we ask that you RSVP in advance by June 2, 2021 for any and all activities that you plan to attend.

The President’s Cup format will feature a four-player roster with two members designated to play Bocce and the other two designated to play Baggo. This will be a single elimination tournament with teams earning points for each round that they advance. The team that tallies the most points in both Bocce and Baggo will be declared the winner.

Please note that you must register your four-person team with the Office of Intramurals and Recreation. For more information, please contact Jon Cascone in the Office of Intramurals and Recreation at x5187 or

If you are interested in attending any or all of these events, please be sure to coordinate with your area supervisor to ensure sufficient office coverage. Employees who elect not to attend these on-campus events are expected to work a regular schedule. Those employees attending the June 9 event may dress in casual attire. In the event of inclement weather you will be notified of an alternate plan.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, June 9 for a special celebration of our colleagues, and an afternoon of fun and friendly competition at the time-honored President’s Cup!

The deadline to RSVP has passed.

Note: You need to register your team separately to enter the President’s Cup.
