The next CY, the department received 98 applications, accepted 69, but 42 enrolled. The department noted that from CY 24 to CY 25, the number of applications increased, but the number of applicants to whom we extended offers of admission remained constant. Of note is how the number of enrolled applicants increased from CY 24 to CY 25. In CY 24, 44% of those accepted enrolled, whereas in CY 25, 61% of those accepted enrolled. The department has made changes to its admissions process. Some changes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop an admissions committee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create priority deadlines for applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The department is revising its interview procedures and rubrics and is proposing a Counseling minor to be more attractive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"student-assessment\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Assessment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program continues to use Experiential Learning Cloud (ELC) as a tool to access student learning. Our Key Objective Assessments (KOAs) are integrated into ELC, and faculty members complete their assessments of students by the last day of classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Department has revised the program objectives to be more aligned with the eight core CACREP 2024 areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Professional Counseling Orientation and Ethical Practice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social and Cultural Diversity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Human Growth and Development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Career Development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Counseling and Helping Relationships<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Group Counseling and Group Work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assessment and Testing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research and Program Evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Department has also revised the assessment plan for students to track students\u2019 development at different points in the program, based on the program objectives. She will be on summer sabbatical summer 2026. Dr. David Julius Ford, Jr. and Dr. Joanne Jodry both had presentations at the American Counseling Association International Conference and Expo.
