Each summer, students have the opportunity to travel and gain firsthand knowledge of the Criminal Justice system on a global level when they enroll in CJ 598: International Policing, Safety, and Leadership<\/strong>, taught by Professor Douglas S. Collier and Dr. Brian Lockwood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The London Experience<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

In collaboration with the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) and personnel from the UK College of Policing, students in the criminal justice graduate program can gain exposure to international policing through a Summer study abroad experience. Students meet with officials of the US Embassy in London, New Scotland Yard, the National Police Coordination Centre, and Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Visiting these locations and interacting with UK officials provides students with valuable networking opportunities and an unforgettable global education experience.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Quantico<\/strong>, Virginia<\/h2>\n\n\n

Students experience a two-day trip to Quantico, Virginia to tour the elite federal law enforcement training academies of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). During the trip, students attend presentations from Special Agents, Intelligence Research Analysts, Diversion Investigators, Program Analysts, Crime Scene Technicians, Laboratory Scientists, and many more. Students will also visit Hogan\u2019s Alley, a realistic tactical training facility for the DEA and FBI.<\/p>\n\n\n

Dublin, Ireland<\/h2>\n\n\n

This course is a joint program with the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) and the Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na (also commonly referred to as the Garda\u00ed) which is the national police force in the Republic of Ireland. The name Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na in English means Guardians of the Peace.\u00a0Once you complete the trip and course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion from the (NJSACOP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
