MA Addiction Studies No admission entrance test. GPA of 3.0 or above preferred. Personal interview required.

Up to 9 transfer credits will be issued for GCU coursework competed from the following coursework with a grade of B or better:

CMH 5100 Counseling Skills
CMH 5101 Adv. Psychopathology & Dx
CMH 5300 Counseling Theory
CMH 5301 Clinical Mental Health Interventions
CMH 5303 Group Counseling

Additional transfer or waived credits may be issued following transcript review and approval by the Program Director.

MA Anthropology No admission entrance test. Minimum requirement of 2.75 GPA. n/a
MA English No admission entrance test. Minimum requirement of 2.75 GPA. n/a
MA History No admission entrance test. Minimum requirement of 2.75 GPA. n/a
MS Athletic Training

No admission entrance test. Minimum requirement of a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

All students will satisfactorily complete a background check.

Students completing the following courses at GCU with a grade of C or better with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in prerequisite courses:

  • Human Anatomy & Physiology I and II* BI213 and BI214 (8)
  • Biology* (other than BI111) (4)
  • Chemistry* (4)
  • Physics* (4)
  • Introduction to Psychology PS111 or PS113 (3)
  • Medical Terminology HRP 200 (3)
  • Statistics BI203, BU221, MA103, PS232, PS410, PS430, or SO201 (3)

*Note: All science courses must have a laboratory component.

Undergraduate coursework in biology, exercise science, and/or health studies programs preferred.

MS Computer Science No admission entrance test. Minimum requirement of 2.75 GPA.

Students completing the following courses at GCU (credits) with a grade of B or better:

MA 210 Discrete Mathematics (3)
CS 123 Computer Programming 1 (4)

can enter the MS in CS and would need to complete these 3 courses:

CS 501B Program Development (3)
CS 503 Data Structure and Algorithms
CS 505 Operating Systems

Restricted to GCU Mathematics majors seeking to enter MU CS program.

MS Information Systems No admission entrance test. Minimum requirement of 2.75 GPA.

Students completing the following courses at GCU (credits) with a grade of B or better:

AC 171 Principles of Financial Accounting I (3)
AC 172 Principles of Managerial Accounting (3)
EC 181 Principles of Macroeconomics (3)
EC 182 Principles of Microeconomics (3)
BU 213 Management Theory & Organizational Behavior (3)
CS 123 Computer Programming I (4)

Students can enter the MS in IS Management Track and would need to complete the following 2 courses:

SE 505 Introduction to Software Engineering (1.5)
SE 511 Object-oriented Modeling (1.5)

Restricted to GCU Business Administration majors seeking to enter MU MSIS, Management Track.

Master of Social Work No admission entrance test. Minimum requirement of 2.75 GPA.
Advanced Standing students entering the program with BSW earned in the last 6 years must have a 3.0 in the major.

Students from GCU with a major other than Social Work apply as Regular Standing students.

Monmouth will accept GCU courses noted below for students in the Social Work minor as transfer credits into the MSW program if a grade of B or better is earned.

SW 305 HBSE I
SW 306 HBSE II
SW 323 Social Policy

For other majors, transcripts would need to be reviewed and the number of courses to be accepted depends on the undergraduate major and grades earned.
