The LEOM \u00a0Scholarship covers up to the cost of attendance less other grants, scholarships, benefits, and\/or other financial assistance awarded under NJ HESAA statute.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students must submit an application annually, found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/njfams.hesaa.org\/NJFAMS\/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=\/NJFAMS\/int\/FinAid\/index.aspx\">NJFAMS portal<\/a>, that must be received by October 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;of the academic year aid is requested for fall and spring terms, or received by March 1<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;of the academic year for which aid is requested for a spring term only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible for this award, students must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a dependent child of a New Jersey law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be a U.S. citizen, an eligible non-citizen, or eligible to file the NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program at an approved New Jersey\u00a0college, university or degree-granting proprietary school during during the fall and\/or spring semester(s) only*. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain satisfactory academic progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not have received the maximum allowable number of payments (8).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p>*Summer eligibility is available in limited circumstances:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be graduating at the end of the summer term in the same academic year that you received a LEOM payment in the fall or spring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have not received the maximum number of payments (8).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be enrolled as a full time student.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications must be received by May 1 of the academic year for which LEOM has already been received.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"videos-on-this-topic\">Videos on This Topic<\/h2>\n\n<iframe \n\t\t\tsrc=\"https:\/\/embed.ocelotbot.com\/cms\/embed\/video\/45157?current_entity=69833&amp;dim=responsive\" \n\t\t\tallowfullscreen=\"true\" \n\t\t\tclass=\"fatv-video\" \n\t\t\ttitle=\"Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Scholarship Program (LEOM)\"\n\t\t><\/iframe>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Law Enforcement Officer Memorial (LEOM) Scholarship is a non-need based scholarship that benefits dependent children of New Jersey law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.
