The law further directs that NJHESAA will\ndevelop procedures and forms for state financial that do not discriminate against\neligible students based upon the immigration status or national origin of the\nstudent or the student\u2019s parent(s) or guardian(s).<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"who-can-apply\">Who Can Apply?<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Any student who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Is not a U.S. Citizen or eligible noncitizen<\/li><li>Attended a NJ high school for at least three years<\/li><li>Graduated from a NJ high school or received the equivalent of a\nhigh school diploma in NJ<\/li><li>Is able to file an affidavit stating they will file an application\nto legalize their immigration status or will file an application as soon as\nthey are eligible to do so<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"application-process\">Application Process<\/h2>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Complete and submit the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/hesaa.org\/Pages\/NJAlternativeApplication.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New\nJersey Alternative Financial Aid Application<\/a>&nbsp;via&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hesaa.org\/\">www.hesaa.org<\/a>. Retain a\ncopy of the application for your records.
