{"id":15842,"date":"2025-10-14T20:06:55","date_gmt":"2025-10-14T20:06:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/finaid\/?page_id=15842"},"modified":"2026-03-13T18:39:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-13T18:39:14","slug":"the-monmouth-promise-grant","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/finaid\/the-monmouth-promise-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"The Monmouth Promise Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Monmouth Promise Grant, offered for the first time in Fall 2025, is designed for high-achieving New Jersey high school students who would benefit from additional financial assistance to attend Monmouth.&nbsp; The grant is awarded to newly enrolling, first-time (i.e., freshman) undergraduate students based on academic performance and financial criteria.&nbsp; No separate application is necessary; all students will be evaluated automatically for eligibility upon admission to the University and submission of the FAFSA.&nbsp; To be eligible for an award, students must be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New Jersey resident for 12 months immediately prior to the first term of enrollment at Monmouth;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enrolled full-time (12 &#8211; 18 credits per semester); and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eligible for maximum federal Pell and NJ TAG grant funding or the total family federal Adjusted Gross Income is less than $65,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Monmouth Promise Grant is awarded in combination with other federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships and the student\u2019s annual maximum federal Direct Subsidized Loan (i.e., $3,500 freshman year, $4,500 sophomore, and $5,500 in each of the junior and senior years) to ensure that the total cost of tuition and fees is covered.&nbsp; The minimum award amount is $1,000 and the maximum award will vary by student.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monmouth Promise Grants are renewable provided the student maintains full-time status (12 -18 credits per semester), a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 <em>and<\/em> has some Pell and NJ TAG Grant eligibility or the total family federal Adjusted Gross Income is less than $65,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional important information about the Monmouth Promise Grant:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The grant can be applied only toward tuition assessed by Monmouth University and cannot be applied toward housing costs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students participating in the tuition remission or tuition exchange programs are not eligible for an award.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grants are NOT available during the summer or winter terms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students must be full-time (i.e., 12 &#8211; 18 credits) for each semester of the award.
