The Iraq and Afghanistan Service Grant is for students whose parent or guardian died as a result of military service in Iraq or Afghanistan. The grant amount is equal to the maximum Federal Pell Grant for the award year and cannot exceed cost of attendance. For the 2021-22 award year, the maximum Federal Pell Grant is $6,495. Due to sequestration, awards first disbursed on or after October 1, 2021 and before October 1, 2022 must be reduced by 5.7 percent. This results in a maximum award of $6,124.79.
