Twice winner of Pr\u00eamio Jabuti, he has been awarded major prizes from the Academy of Brazilian Letters and the Writers\u2019 Union. Five collections of his work have appeared in English: <em>Blood of the Sun<\/em> (2012), <em>Tiger Fur<\/em> (2015), <em>Palavora<\/em> (2019), <em>Mapping the Tribe<\/em> (2020), and <em>Consecration of the Wolves<\/em> (2021), all in Alexis Levitin\u2019s translation. His forty-eight books of translation include Clarice Lispector\u2019s <em>Soulstorm<\/em>, Eugenio de Andrade\u2019s <em>Forbidden Words<\/em>, Astrid Cabral\u2019s <em>Cage and Gazing Through Water<\/em>, and five collections by Salgado Maranh\u00e3o, including the most recent, <em>Consecration of the Wolves<\/em>.
