The evening\u2019s line-up includes one of the East Coast\u2019s top acapella groups <strong>Quiet Storm<\/strong>, who in addition to their own set will join international recording artist, songwriter and pianist, <strong>Gaynel Hodge<\/strong> on stage for a special performance. Gaynel Hodge co-wrote the 1950\u2019s Platinum hit song, <em>Earth Angel<\/em> and is founding member and musical director of<br \/>such famous groups as The Platters, the Turks and The Hollywood Flames. Also performing are <strong>Joel &amp; The Dynamics<\/strong>, featuring Joel Katz, who has sung with The Autumns, Cliftonaires, Del Satins, Impalas, Five Discs and others; <strong>Frankie &amp; The Fashions<\/strong> who formed on a street corner in Philadelphia in the early 60\u2019s by Frank LaFaro, who wrote their signature song <em>What Do I Have To Do<\/em>; <strong>Nostalgia 5<\/strong>, known for their complex vocal harmonies; <strong>Re-MemberThen<\/strong>, whose recent video singing in a train tunnel went viral, attracting 50,000 views; and <strong>5\/3 Woodland<\/strong>, entertainers extraordinaire known for mixing their great harmonies with a touch of humor.<\/p>\n<p><em>[This line up is subject to change] <br \/>produced by Classic Urban Harmonies<\/em><\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<p><strong>Gold Circle seats will include Preshow Meet &#038; Greet Reception<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the third year in a row, our celebration of doo wop acapella harmony returns to Monmouth University&#8217;s Pollak Theatre.  Born on the street corners of urban America, rhythm &amp; blues and doo wop singing reached its peak in the 1950\u2019s, and still has a strong following today.  While doo wop singing began as an African American art form, by the late 1950\u2019s it was enjoyed by singers of all races.
