It\u2019s a form that drew<br \/>\nfrom traditional African disciplines to create a mode of expression that uses<br \/>\nthe whole body \u2014 in all of its tapping, clapping, spoken-word yapping<br \/>\nversatility \u2014 to convey a sense of community through sound and movement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\">Traveling the world as official cultural ambassadors of the<br \/>\nUnited States \u2014 and riding a resurgent wave of interest in this exciting \u201cnew\u201d<br \/>\ndance form \u2014 the nonprofit Step Afrika! company conducts an annual tour of<br \/>\ncolleges and universities across the country.
