SUMMARY:The Lost Princess of Oz – A World Premiere
DESCRIPTION:From the creator of America’s favorite story THE WIZARD OF OZ comes this little-known sequel THE LOST PRINCESS OF OZ! L. Frank Baum continues the adventures of Dorothy from Kansas\, Glinda the Good Witch and the Wizard himself as they search for Princess Ozma to recover the magic stolen from Oz. Gordon Brown\, also of Williams Honor\, portrays Baum. \nThis multimedia dance musical from the Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater is directed by Gabriel Chajnik with a libretto based on Baum by Shannon Hill and an exciting original score by Chris Becker\, whose Appalachian-inspired composition is infused with country fiddles and bluegrass banjoes! \nIf you loved WICKED\, the prequel to Oz\, wait till you discover the music and the magic of THE LOST PRINCESS OF OZ! A great summer adventure for the whole family\, from one to a hundred! \n\n\n\nBOX OFFICE: 732-531-9106\, ext 14. \n\n\nPerformances:\nPreview Performance: Fri. Aug. 19 @ 6pm\nSat. SUMMARY:Ta-Nehisi Coates' The Water Dancer
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Tuesday Night Book Club! Hosted by Monmouth University’s Ken Womack\, each month we’ll explore a different novel. All you have to do is Zoom in and join the discussion! \nThis month’s novel is Ta-Nehisi Coates\, The Water Dancer. \n#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • OPRAH’S BOOK CLUB PICK  \nFrom the National Book Award–winning author of Between the World and Me\, Ta-Nehisi Coates comes a boldly conjured debut novel about a magical gift\, a devastating loss\, and an underground war for freedom. \nThis is the dramatic story of an atrocity inflicted on generations of women\, men\, and children—the violent and capricious separation of families—and the war they waged to simply make lives with the people they loved. Written by one of today’s most exciting thinkers and writers\, The Water Dancer is a propulsive\, transcendent work that restores the humanity of those from whom everything was stolen. \nWhen you register you will be provided the meeting link to join the conversation.
