DESCRIPTION:Join Jennifer Cory ’01\, M.S.\, M.A.P.P.\, and Stacey Rose\, Ph.D.\, L.C.S.W.\, for a webinar to discuss the importance of psychological well-being during trying times. \nSpeakers\n\n \nJennifer Cory\, M.S.\, M.A.P.P.\, is the founder and chief hope facilitator of HEART Initiative\, a social impact organization dedicated to helping people with chronic conditions/diseases/stressors live with less fear and more joy\, hope\, and possibility. She also maintains a psychotherapy practice where\, for the past 18 years\, she has had the privilege of helping clients transform trauma\, loss\, and pain into meaning\, purpose\, and post-traumatic growth. Jennifer graduated from Monmouth University with a B.S.W. (’01)\, and has served as both an adjunct professor and on the Dean’s Council at the School of Social Work. She has also received her M.S. from Columbia University (’02) and a Master in Applied Positive Psychology degree from University of Pennsylvania (’15). \n\n\n \nStacey F. Rose\, Ph.D.\, L.C.S.W. is a psychotherapist specializing in helping people to create and sustain fulfilling relationships. Her practice\, ‘The Rose Relationship Learning Center’ helps people in all stages of relationships and life. Because Relationships Don’t Come with Directions. With over 25 years experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist\, Rose graduated from Fordham University (1991) and continued her academic journey by earning a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology in 2013. She is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing\, a treatment to help people thrive after trauma. Rose has also presented at national conferences on topics including: improving marriage\, parenting\, self-care\, thriving after trauma\, and managing fear and stress\, been a regular radio guest on 94.3 FM The Point\, and has been a regular columnist in The Today Paper offering guidance on mental health issues and relationships.

What started out as an annual videotape comedy competition over 20 years ago in New York to honor a fellow women in comedy who helped so many women get their start\, has established itself as the CAREERBUILDER FOR WOMEN IN COMEDY. \nSince its inaugural year when the contest went “live” in a YWCA in New Jersey\, The Ladies of Laughter contest has visited legendary venues including legendary theaters\, Caesars and even Madison Square Garden.  Past participants include Amy Schumer\, Tammy Pescatelli and “Big Bang Theory” star\, Melissa Rauch\, among countless others. This show will include: \nRobin Fox\nWinner of the 2012 Ladies of Laughter Competition held at Gotham Comedy Club\, NYC\, New Jersey Stand-Up Comedian\, Robin Fox spent 17 years as a full-time mom and dieting. Then one day\, Robin gave up dieting and decided to make her life long dream of being a comedian a reality. Today she is happier than she can ever remember and will never look back! Users can automatically animate or toggle through hundreds of maps representing fish distributions during the spring or fall seasons in the 1970s\, 1980s\, 1990s\, 2000s or 2010s. The Portal also added a collection of maps projecting future shifts through the year 2100\, based on data previously released by OceanAdapt. \nMembers of the public can learn more about the shifting species data and the Portal in a free webinar on Earth Day\, April 22\, from 11 a.m. to noon. Chris Bruce and Marta Ribera of The Nature Conservancy will discuss the analysis in further detail\, demonstrate the maps and participate in a Q&A session.

DESCRIPTION:This semester\, Blue Hawk Records will be hosting their first ever virtual release show on the Blue Hawk Records Instagram page for their new album Sweet 16 on May 6 at 8pm.  \nOver the past few weeks\, student life at Monmouth University\, and everywhere\, has changed dramatically\, due to COVID – 19. Like all other schools and universities across the country\, Monmouth has moved to online instruction for the remainder of the spring semester. However\, despite the chaotic and tumultuous situation students found themselves\, Blue Hawk Records carried on with its plans to release its 16th studio album. They innovated and found a way to remotely produce\, promote and release the spring 2020 compilation EP\, “Sweet 16”. DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Melissa Ziobro\, Specialist Professor of Public History in the Department of History and Anthropology \nThe topic of American women and royal marriage has been popularized since British Prince Harry wed American actress Meghan Markle in 2018- but did you know that marriages between American women and European nobles once happened by the hundreds? During the Gilded Age\, wealthy American heiresses married impoverished European nobles by the score. The marriages secured social status for “new money” American families often slighted by the established elites in their own country; while the infusion of American dollars allowed the impoverished nobility across the Atlantic to continue to maintain the lifestyles to which their families had been accustomed for generations. There were literally hundreds of these marriages\, some more famous than others- including several featuring brides with roots in NJ.
