SUMMARY:Basic Life Support (BLS)
DESCRIPTION:Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers – American Heart Association (AHA) \nThis course is intended for health and allied health providers (licensed and non-licensed)\, students working in healthcare settings\, fire fighters\, police officers\, paramedics and EMT’s. Following the AHA guidelines\, this in-person training is designed to prepare individuals to provide BLS in a variety of settings. \nUpon completion of course requirements – participants will receive an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS provider completion card which is good for 2 years. \nThe following content will be included: \n\nAHA’s Basic Life Support (BLS) principles and procedures for adults\, children\, and infants including simulated demonstration and repeat demonstration\nAdministration of CPR\nEstablishing effective ventilations using a barrier device\nProper use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED)\nRelief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults\, children\, and infants\nWorking as a team in multi-rescuer resuscitation\n\nPre-registration is required. Please register early as registration for each session is limited. \nBooks are included. \nNo contact hours will be provided for this program.
