Met Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin leads a starry cast\, including tenor Matthew Polenzani in the title role\, soprano Sonya Yoncheva as Élisabeth de Valois\, and mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton as Eboli. Bass-baritones Eric Owens and John Relyea are Philippe II and the Grand Inquisitor\, and baritone Étienne Dupuis rounds out the principal cast as Rodrigue. Verdi’s masterpiece receives a monumental new staging by David McVicar that marks his 11th Met production\, placing him among the most prolific and popular directors in recent Met memory.

Adelphi has partnered with venues across the country to help promote the series and the artists. \nJarrod Spector is best known for his Tony Nominated performance in Beautiful: the Carole King Musical in the role of ‘Barry Mann’. He played ‘Frankie Valli’ for a record 1500 performances in Broadway’s Jersey Boys and was last seen as the iconic ‘Sonny Bono’ in Broadway’s The Cher Show. Kelli Barrett originated the role of ‘Lara Guishar’ in Broadway’s Doctor Zhivago and has also played leading roles in Broadway’s Wicked\, Baby It’s You! and The Royal Family. She was recently lauded for her portrayal as ‘Liza Minnelli’ in the award-winning FX show Fosse/Verdon. \nHitched in 2014\, Barrett & Spector present Funny How It Happens\, an intimate look at the uncanny parallels and fortuitous make-it-or-break-it moments throughout their careers and friendship that eventually brought them together. They are about to celebrate the 21st birthday of Francis Geminiani\, a Harvard student\, when two classmate friends from Harvard and Yale\, Judith and Randy\, show up unexpectedly. Since there isn’t a spare bedroom in either house they pitch a tent in the backyard. Francis’ classmates\, the wealthy Judith seeks romance with Francis not realizing that her brother Randy is the object of Francis’ unexpressed affection. Each of the characters in the play are dysfunctional to some degree and their celebration of Francis’ birthday brings out the best of comedy and drama. The birthday party is a series of comic incidents that provide laughter and serious realizations that lead up to the final joyous ending. The crazy fast moving celebration leaves each character a bit wiser and happier having celebrated Francis’ 21st birthday.

DESCRIPTION:Banished: A family on the sex offender registry follows the story of one family as they take us through the criminal proceedings and the changes they must go through when preparing for the registry. Banished is an oral history and storytelling project documenting the harms of the sex offender registry\, told in three parts. The contained works are co-written by Elizabeth Weill-Greenberg\, a staff writer for The Appeal\, and coLAB Arts producing director\, Dan Swern. It was developed with support from the New Jersey Council for the Humanities. Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones)\, Oliver Chris (Green Wing\, NT Live: Young Marx)\, David Moorst (NT Live: Allelujah!) and Hammed Animashaun (The Barber Shop Chronicles) lead the cast as Titania\, Oberon\, Puck and Bottom. \nDirected by Nicholas Hytner\, the production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will build on the success of his immersive staging of Julius Caesar (NT Live 2018). The Bridge Theatre will become a forest – a dream world of flying fairies\, contagious fogs and moonlight revels\, surrounded by a roving audience following the action on foot.
