DESCRIPTION:Substitute Nurses are needed in many school districts! This class is designed to present an overview of the responsibilities of the Substitute School Nurse. SUMMARY:Adult/Adolescent Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) Clinical Skills Training (IAFN)
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this program is to prepare the registered nurse for the clinical aspects of the adult/adolescent sexual assault medical-forensic examination. Participation is limited to nurses who have completed a didactic course of SANE/SAFE training. \nThis 2-day live training experience provides the attendee with an opportunity to observe and demonstrate clinical skills used during the assessment and treatment of adolescent and adult victims of sexual assault. \nParticipants will observe and demonstrate the following techniques: \n\nSpecimen collection and packaging\nPhoto-documentation of findings\nGenital inspection and pelvic examination\nThe use of supplies and equipment specific to completion of a forensic medical sexual assault evaluation.\n\nFee: $450 \n16.0 nursing continuing education contact hours will be provided by the International Association of Forensic Nurses (IAFN).
