DESCRIPTION:It’s just like book club but with albums! With new advances in technology\, the way we consume music through our devices\, apps and on demand streaming services like Pandora\, Spotify and iTunes is making the idea of the “album” as an art form extinct. Get together with other music enthusiasts on Tuesday nights to discuss some of the greatest records of all-time! Listen to the album beforehand and then come prepared to discuss. This event will feature The Smithereens’ Especially for You. \nThis event is offered BOTH in person and via Zoom. Join us in person at the Great Hall Auditorium on the Campus of Monmouth University or join us via zoom. When you register you will be provided the ZOOM meeting link to join the conversation. \nFree and open to the public\, but registration is required.

DESCRIPTION:Class Schedule: November 6\, 13\, & 20\, 2025 | 7:30 – 9:00 PM \nIn Detroit in the 1960’s Motown Records produced hits as efficiently as the Ford Motor Company produced automobiles. It was the “Sound of Young America” conceived by Berry Gordy J and sung by performers like The Supremes\, The Temptations\, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Using audio and visual content\, we’ll trace the amazing musical journey from the power soul of “Dancing in The Streets” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” to the psychedelic soul of “What’s Going On” and “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone” to the pop soul of The Jackson 5. Timeless music that moved us then and moves us now. \nZoom Link will be provided upon registration.
