SUMMARY:Life\, Death\, Life Again: Children Sentenced to Die in Prison
DESCRIPTION:Life\, Death\, Life Again: Children Sentenced to Die in Prison is a verbatim theater piece by Elizabeth Weill-Greenberg\, that shares the stories of four people sentenced to die in prison for violent crimes committed as children\, and a victim’s grandson who chose to lead with forgiveness. Each performance will be followed by a facilitated discussion on the themes discussed in the play – radical forgiveness and how we can create a more humane criminal justice system. \nFeaturing: Turron Kofi Alleyne\, June Ballinger\, Shavonna Banks\, LaChrisha Brown\, Brian O’Neill\, David Seamon \nThis performance is presented by coLAB Arts\, and supported by The MU Center for the Arts with the Department of Political Science and Sociology\, Department of Criminal Justice\, and the School of Social Work at Monmouth University. \n*Social Work CEUs – Approved and provided by the Monmouth University School of Social Work in accordance with New Jersey Administrative Code 13:44G and recognized by the New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners. \nThis event is free\, but registration is required (except for Monmouth University students going as part of a class).
