SUMMARY:Bruce Springsteen: A Photographic Journey
DESCRIPTION:Rechnitz Hall’s DiMattio Gallery\, 1st Floor\nOpening Reception: Sun September 27\, 1-4pm\nThe opening reception  will include a Q&A with the photographers moderated by Grammy Museum executive director Bob Santelli at 2:30 PM. \nFree and open to the public \nBruce Springsteen: A Photographic Journey\, a traveling photography exhibition curated by the GRAMMY Museum Los Angeles\, features 45 iconic images of Bruce Springsteen. The exhibit serves to document a great American music legend\, and will feature photos taken by noted Springsteen photographers Danny Clinch\, Ed Gallucci\, Eric Meola\, Pamela Springsteen and Frank Stefanko. \n“Our goal with this exhibition is to define the career of Bruce Springsteen in an entirely new light\, as captured by these five incredible photographers\,” said GRAMMY Museum executive director Bob Santelli. “Each of these photographers was able to artfully document Bruce’s world\, at different stages in his career. We are honored to partner with each of them in order to help tell the story of one of the most important figures in American music.” \nBruce Springsteen’s recording career spans more than forty years\, beginning with 1973’s Columbia Records release Greetings from Asbury Park\, NJ. He has released 18 studio albums\, garnered 20 GRAMMY Awards\, won an Oscar\, has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame\, was a 2009 recipient of Kennedy Center Honors and was named 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year by The Recording Academy. Springsteen’s newest album High Hopes (Columbia) was released on January 14\, 2014. \nWhile the majority of the exhibit focuses on Springsteen off-stage\, four additional live performance photographs\, shot by Barry Schneier\, will be showcased. These photos were shot during the now famous Springsteen concert at Harvard Square Theater where famed Rolling Stone music journalist Jon Landau claimed\, “I have seen the future of rock and roll\, and its name is Bruce Springsteen.” \nAdditionally\, the exhibit will feature video interviews with each of the photographers\, produced by the GRAMMY Museum.

DESCRIPTION:The legendary sleuth\, Sherlock Holmes\, takes the stage in this witty\, fast paced production by the acclaimed Aquila Theatre. \nThe clever Holmes skillfully maneuvers the twisted web of London’s most intriguing cases with his split second deductions revealing intimate and useful details of a person’s life. Sherlock Holmes is a master of disguise and a brilliant actor\, as well as a composer and musician-is there anything he can’t do? Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s vivid characters jump from the page weaving a tale of mystery\, suspense and intrigue. In addition to Holmes\, many of Doyle’s other well known creations are on hand; the trusted sidekick Dr. Watson\, Irene Adler\, the woman who got away\, and the only woman to have won Holmes’s respect\, the red-headed mason Jabez Wilson. DESCRIPTION:It’s been 30 years since the Cowboy Junkies led by siblings Margo\, Michael and Peter Timmins on vocals\, guitar and drums respectively\, plus Alan Anton on bass —performed their first\ngigs at various Toronto clubs. For three decades\, the Cowboy Junkies have remained true to their unique artistic vision and to the introspective\, quiet intensity that is their musical signature\, creating a critically acclaimed body of original work that has endeared them to an audience unwavering in its loyalty. \nJoined by multi-instrumentalist Jeff Bird\, the core Cowboy quartet returns to Monmouth for a retrospective of their three decades playing (and listening to) all manifestations of popular music. Expect an evening that runs the gamut from the folky intimacy of the band’s earliest efforts\, to an always surprising selection of covers (Springsteen\, Stones\, Talking Heads\, The Cure) — although to be sure\, simply delivering “the expected” has never been part of the Cowboy Junkies playbook.
