SUMMARY:La Bohème
DESCRIPTION:With its enchanting setting and spellbinding score\, the world’s most popular opera is as timeless as it is heartbreaking. Franco Zeffirelli’s picture-perfect production brings 19th century Paris to the Met stage as Puccini’s young friends and lovers navigate the joy and struggle of bohemian life. Soprano Juliana Grigoryan is the feeble seamstress Mimì\, opposite tenor Freddie De Tommaso as the ardent poet Rodolfo. Keri-Lynn Wilson conducts the November 8 performance\, which will be transmitted live from the Met stage to the Pollak Theatre.

SUMMARY:Alumni Speaker Series: "Lunch and Learn" with Becca Baier ’12
DESCRIPTION:From Self-Doubt to Self-Assurance: Navigating Your Career with Confidence\nWhat happens when you want to apply for a job or internship and that voice in your head tells you that’s totally nuts and you don’t have the experience or qualifications? \nAnd then\, if you somehow magically land the role\, how do you “fake it til you make it” in a place you’re worried you’ll be found out? \nAlmost 4 years ago\, Becca made the transition from a higher education professional to the corporate world\, and these were some of the many thoughts she had along the way. Whether you’re thinking about entering the workforce for the first time\, changing career fields\, or just struggling with self-doubt\, this is the workshop for you! \nAbout the Speaker\nA proud Monmouth Hawk\, Baier has a B.S. in Mathematics and M.A. in Higher Education Student Personnel. She went to Ole Miss for grad school\, and during her eight years working in higher education\, she worked at Rider University and Rutgers-New Brunswick. In January 2022\, Baier made the career leap to corporate\, where she now works at Paramount Global in Human Resources. After her first year and a half\, she made a jump within Paramount to a new team and continues to experience that thing we can’t seem to avoid in life—change! \nOutside of work\, Baier is the founder and director of The Celebrate Life Foundation\, a NJ 501(c)3 nonprofit organization\, and is a certified life and career coach. She loves spending time with her family and friends\, lives on the beach (right by campus!)\, and has a knack for organizing and color-coding.
