SUMMARY:Gallery Exhibition: Historic Wilson Hall
DESCRIPTION:Historic Wilson Hall\nDesignated a Historical Landmark in 1985\nNovember 1 – December 21\, 2012\nPollak Gallery\nFree & Open to Public\nThe splendor of the golden age of American palaces will be featured in
an exhibit of photographs depicting Shadow lawn estate as it appeared from 1903 through 1937. The exhibit features images of the original colonial wood frame structure built in 1903 that was destroyed by fire in 1927\, and the neoclassical French limestone structure that replaced it in 1929. The exhibit includes images of President Woodrow Wilson making his acceptance speech on the steps
of Shadow Lawn\, the opulent décor of the interiors\, and the greenhouses and grounds that supported the estate.\n\nThis exhibition is part of an ongoing historical project that we hope to grow and enhance by learning more through oral histories and individual memories. If you or a family member had a special connection or story to share about Shadow Lawn Mansion or Wilson Hall\, please submit it. We will be collecting this information for use in future research and exhibitions.

SUMMARY:Peter Yarrow w/ Special Guests Bethany & Rufus
DESCRIPTION: Fifty years after the release of the first album by Peter\, Paul\n& Mary\, the man who helped to reinforce folk music’s place in the\nAmerican consciousness has neither slowed his pace of activity\, nor\nsurrendered one ounce of the activist’s passion that has kept his voice\nloud and clear in the public forum of progressive causes. \nIn the wake of the 2009 passing of Mary Travers\, Peter Yarrow has\ncontinued to tour with Noel “Paul” Stookey — as well as in a solo\ncontext\, and as a member of a new and entirely different kind of trio.\nPeter\, Bethany and Rufus teams the veteran singer and songwriter with\nhis daughter\, vocalist Bethany Yarrow\, as well as with the spectacular\ncellist Rufus Cappadocia — a project that evolved from a collaboration\non an album of children’s classics (including\, of course\, “Puff the\nMagic Dragon”) to the acclaimed touring presentation The Spirit of\nWoodstock. \nPeter Yarrow\, whose activities in the 21st century include the founding\nof the successful anti-bullying initiative known as Operation Respect\,\nremains both a friendly face and a driving force in modern folk music —\nand the Pollak Theatre welcomes two generations of Yarrows for this\nspecial concert event.  \nwww.peterpaulandmary.com
