{"id":1201,"date":"2024-01-10T08:37:42","date_gmt":"2024-01-10T13:37:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/disability-services\/?page_id=1201"},"modified":"2024-02-01T09:52:57","modified_gmt":"2024-02-01T14:52:57","slug":"procedure-for-requesting-alternative-testing","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/disability-services\/procedure-for-requesting-alternative-testing\/","title":{"rendered":"Procedure for Requesting Alternative Testing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Intent: <\/strong>To inform students whose documented disability makes it necessary to utilize alternative testing accommodations about the procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Accountability: <\/strong>The Department of Disability Services, the ADA\/504 Coordinator and students who have selected to self-identify as a person with disability requesting disability related accommodations and support services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applicability:<\/strong> Students enrolled full-time or part-time at Monmouth University who are registered with the Department of Disability Services and approved to receive alternative testing accommodations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Definition:<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Business Day:<\/strong> is defined as Monday\u2013Friday, 8:45 a.m.\u20135 p.m.; weekend and holiday dates are not included.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Procedure: <\/strong>Students requesting alternative testing accommodations must complete the following steps at <strong>least 2 business days<\/strong> before an exam date:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Students are expected to take exams at the same time as class unless scheduling conflict occurs (back-to-back courses) and with the permission of faculty member.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Register with DDS and be approved for alternative testing accommodations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sign in to Accommodate and select \u201cTesting Room\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cNew Booking Request\u201d. New test room booking requests must be made at <strong>least 2 business days<\/strong> in advance of the test date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the \u201cCourse, Date and Time Range\u201d of the test.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When prompted enter yes or no when asked if it is a final exam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Override course length\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the class is receiving anything less than the full class period to complete the exam, select \u201cyes\u201d and enter the length the class is receiving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For \u201cBuilding\u201d, select DDS Office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201ccheck availability\u201d at the bottom of the page. Available time slots will populate on the right side of the screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cTime Slot\u201d located to the right.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the title of the exam and include any additional information needed in the notes section of the form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select \u201cSubmit Request\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once submitted the students will see the request in pending status on the Test Room Booking tab and will receive an email confirmation of the request.
