Mary H. Stern earned a Bachelor of Science degree as a Physician Assistant from St. Francis University in Loretto, PA, in 1982. She attended the Rutgers Graduate School of Education while working as a clinical assistant professor at the UMDNJ physician assistant program in Piscataway, NJ, and attained her Master of Education degree from Rutgers in 2001. Her career in healthcare began as a licensed practical nurse working at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. Following the completion of her physician assistant studies, she entered into clinical practice as a physician assistant. She has worked in family practice, neonatology, pediatric cardiology, and employee health. Professor Stern is nationally certified as a physician assistant and is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and registered in New York.
