DeMaise is a Lieutenant in the New Jersey State Police.  He currently
serves as the Unit Head of New Jersey Task Force-1, the State’s
Urban Search and Rescue Team, which was recently accredited as a member
of the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue System.  His assignments include
training officer for the NJSP Special Operation Section, Station
Commander for NJSP Atlantic City Marine Station, and
Unit Head of the state’s full-time tactical team. He
served as a Section Chief of a Marine Corps Reserve Intelligence shop
and is currently attending the Naval Post Graduate School, Center for
Homeland Defense and Security.

Research Interests

DeMaise’s academic interests are currently focused on developing a Master
Thesis on technology interoperability for Homeland security. 
His personal interests include community service and youth leadership
mentoring through the Travis Manion Foundation, Character Does Matter
