Lemir Walid Abillama served as Chief Commercial Officer in global airlines where he was responsible for all the commercial functions of the airline. He lead teams of fleet planners, flight schedulers, pricing analysts, partnerships negotiators, customer experience managers, loyalty specialists, salespersons and e-commerce developers. Under his leadership, the commercial organization of the airline developed and implemented successfully medium and long-range plans for the flights network of the airline based on market intelligence with the objective to maximize jointly the airline profitability and the airline market share.
Abillama served as Adjunct Faculty in Engineering Schools, Business Schools, Math Departments and Liberal Arts Schools worldwide, where he taught courses in Optimization, Stochastic Processes, Decision Analysis, Production Control, Inventory Analysis, Queueing Networks, Manufacturing Systems, Machine Scheduling, Simulation, Operations Management, Calculus, Algebra and Statistics.
Abillama holds a PhD degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
His research interests are the implementation of optimal production policies under uncertainty where flexibility and quick response are key elements for the success of commercial policies in highly competitive air travel markets, ranging from low cost airlines to full service airlines.
Currently, Abillama is serving as Academic Advisor in Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, New Jersey.
