Dr. Patro’s occupational roles include: Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Educator, Caregiver (children and pet) as well as Mentor and Arts Enthusiast/Aficionado.

Dr. Patro began his career as an occupational therapist in 2008 working in long term/subacute care. While working as a Team Leader of Rehabilitation Services in North Philadelphia, Dr. Patro earned his post-professional clinical doctorate. Having spent time in his clinical career serving as an adjunct professor, Dr. Patro transitioned into full-time academia in 2013. Since then, Dr. Patro has served in roles such as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Doctoral Capstone Coordinator/Director of Doctoral Projects as well as Program Director and Chair.

As a husband and father of two boys, Dr. Patro deeply values his family and enjoys spending time with these most important people in his life. Valuing the importance of continued expansion of knowledge and skills, Dr. Patro not only earned his clinical doctorate in 2010, he has gone further to complete all coursework for a PhD in Educational Studies with a concentration on adult learning and development.

In his leisure time, Dr. Patro enjoys traveling within and outside of the United States. In an effort to blend his love for travel and role as an OT educator, Dr. Patro has led international outreach trips with students. In addition to travel, Dr. Patro also enjoys theatre as well as spectator sports. As a native of the Philadelphia area, Dr. Patro’s love of sports also comes with the heartache of defeat.
