Christa Hogan, MSW, LCSW, is a lecturer and the BSW Program Director in the School of Social Work at Monmouth University. She has been teaching at Monmouth University since 2002 in the Undergraduate and Graduate Program in the School of Social Work.

Christa has been clinically licensed since 2005 and has a variety of practice experience including working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties, school social work, and in private practice working with children, adolescents, and adults.

Christa also has extensive practice experience working with older adults in nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, hospice, and working with caregivers.

Research Interests

Christa’s research interests are varied. She continues to be committed to older adult academic content and its delivery in undergraduate and graduate programs.  She is currently evaluating coursework around service-learning opportunities such as intergenerational relationships among students and older adult community members and virtual volunteer experiences with older adults and college aged students.  Christa’s other research interests include gatekeeping procedures in social work education, Caregiving issues and experiences, and trauma informed teaching.
