{"id":533,"date":"2022-06-07T15:03:48","date_gmt":"2022-06-07T19:03:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/department-of-curriculum-and-instruction\/?page_id=533"},"modified":"2025-09-10T15:45:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T19:45:24","slug":"ba-history-and-education-endorsement-in-p3","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/department-of-curriculum-and-instruction\/programs-of-study\/ba-history-and-education-endorsement-in-p3\/","title":{"rendered":"B.A. in History and Education with Endorsements in P-3"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"about-the-program\">About the Program<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The History and Education with an Endorsement in P-3 program is designed to prepare students for a career in education and provide an understanding of the complex forces that have shaped the modern world.<br><br>Students will develop their teaching skills by spending time in the classroom and learning how to navigate the needs of young children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds and young children with disabilities.<br><br>They will also gain critical thinking, research, analytical, and communication skills that will guide them throughout their professional careers and will be presented with a wide range of opportunities such as, teaching in a resource room, self-contained setting, or a general education inclusive classroom.<br><br>Additionally, students will learn the process of documenting the human experience from early ancestors to today&#8217;s urban societies, and gain a strong background in U.S., European History, and the History of Western Civilization.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"core-courses\">Core Courses<\/h3>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>United States History<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Western Civilization in World Perspective<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction to Early Childhood Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Literacy Instruction in P-6 Educational Setting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button is-style-in-page\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/catalog.monmouth.edu\/undergraduate-catalog\/education\/curriculum-instruction\/history-education-ba-endorsements-p-3-teacher-students-disabilities\/\">View Curriculum &amp; Sequence Charts<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"student-outcomes\">Student Outcomes<\/h3>\n\n\n<p>Our students have gone on to have successful careers in education with the assistance of Monmouth University&#8217;s extensive network of local school and district partnerships.
