Meet Our Alum

Diana L. Morris enrolled in Monmouth University’s teacher preparation program to obtain an Early Childhood endorsement. Before completing the 24-credit endorsement, Diana extended her studies to include six extra credits to obtain a M.Ed. in education. The program is completely online and Diana demonstrated ability to excel in the distance-learning environment. In 2018, she graduated from the program. Shortly thereafter, Diana’s employer, Head Start, promoted her from a certified preschool teacher to Center Director.

Diana’s vision and dedication made an impression on her Monmouth University professors as she stepped out as a leader in early childhood education and online learning. Immediately she began to volunteer her time and expertise to support students in the early childhood endorsement and M.Ed. program to prepare for and pass the required performance assessment, edTPA. Soon Diana became an adjunct faculty member at Monmouth University in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction, where she began teaching in the early childhood endorsement and M.Ed. program.

Dedicated to the mission of continued professional development, Diana enrolled in the doctoral program in the School of Education in the fall of 2018. Her goal is to complete the program and graduate by the summer of 2020 with an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership. Diana is committed to her journey of teaching others to serve with excellence, dedication, and perseverance. She continues serving as an adjunct in the department of Curriculum & Instruction and consulting P-3 teacher candidates with the edTPA performance assessment. Diana states this of her experience, “… a true believer and testament that Monmouth University builds leaders for tomorrow.”
