Each week combines hands-on learning with Monmouth\u2019s beautiful West Long Branch campus environment. Learn RPG Maker, from Gotcha Gotcha Games who have made video game development accessible to all skill sets for 30 years. From the introduction of the interface to more complex features, you\u2019ll create and complete your video game vision. Each week, we focus on complementary aspects to the video game industry; comic creation and 3D modeling\/printing. Campers will leave Tech Camp with digital portfolio development skill to showcase their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Week 1: (July 13-17th) Build It While You Learn It<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n

In this course you will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Create your own video game from the map, characters, story structure, to designing your quests. Have playable elements by the end of Day 1!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Be introduced to AI to create elements from visual variations, game-based dialogue, creating NPC (non-character players) to de-bugging basics<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Get peer feedback while you consider player experience in the development of your game<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Discover how the world of video games and comics overlap by drafting a comic based on your video game including storyboarding, comic panel creation, and cover art<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Develop a digital portfolio to house your work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n

    Week 2: (July 20-24th) Advanced Game Development & 3D Modeling<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n

    In this course you will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • Create your own video game from the map, characters, story structure, to quests with more advanced RPG Maker features. Focus on variables, conditions and branching logic. Have playable elements by the end of Day 1!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Utilize AI as a de-bugging assistant<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Focus on UI through the introduction of sound and atmosphere basics, game balance and player engagement<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Learn 3D modeling through the introduction of basic CAD tools. Watch your characters come to life!<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Compile and complete a digital portfolio to house your creations and documentation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Each week culminates in a showcase presentation and demo for family and friends<\/p>\n\n\n\n
