Before scheduling your classes, you will have to take the Mathematics Placement Exam to determine which math class is right for you.\u00a0The results are only to help you and your advisor plan the appropriate classes for your intended major<\/strong>. You will be placed at a level from 1 through 4 that best captures your prior math knowledge. You cannot place out of math <\/strong>so do your best to take the exam honestly and seriously. For more information about what your placement level means visit the Math Placement Guide<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note:<\/strong> This assessment is used for placement purposes only and will not have any effect on your admission status to Monmouth University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Academic Accommodations<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you are a student with a disability and will be requesting academic accommodations for the Mathematics Placement Assessment, you must register with the Department of Disability Services (DDS). Please contact the DDS at 732-571-3460 or 1-732-263-5795 (TTY relay) to speak with a staff member regarding the registration process. All students seeking accommodations must call the DDS prior to completing the assessment<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be Honest<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cheating on the placement exam could place you into a class you are not ready for, potentially causing you to have to retake the same class another semester. <\/strong>While taking the exam, do not consult outside resources for help. Outside resources include<\/strong>, but are not limited to: friends\/family, internet searches\/AI, textbooks, notes, personal calculators, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Take the Exam Seriously<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Not taking the time to answer questions to the best of your ability could cause you to be placed lower than your actual knowledge level. This could cause you to have to take extra classes to fulfill your major requirements.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
