Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department of Mathematics. If you are interested in mathematics or statistics, you are in the right place. As you browse through our site, you will find that we have many exciting things happening in our department. Keep in mind that mathematics, as statistics related jobs, continue to be relevant and among the highest valued in terms of personal satisfaction as well as compensation.

Our faculty are dynamic and dedicated to providing a top quality undergraduate experience. They have a variety of interests including mathematical history, number theory, statistics, and applied mathematics. We have a flexible curriculum based on solid foundation courses as well as challenging upper-level courses such as modeling, statistical consulting, real analysis, and modern algebra. Our students are encouraged to put their own stamp on their undergraduate experience by participating in the Summer Research Program or Student Research Conference here at Monmouth, as well as attending or even presenting at a conference.

The department has a Mathematics Learning Center that provides free peer assistance for most of our service mathematics courses. The center is staffed by our majors and is typically the hub of activity for groups to gather and study.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or need additional information about our department and what we have to offer.
