Students can schedule individual appointments by filling out the <a href=\"https:\/\/etcentral.monmouth.edu\/#\/form\/822\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Support Self-Referral<\/a>, stopping into the office, or calling 732-571-7517.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While most initial sessions are scheduled within 3-5 business days of the request, appointment availability is not guaranteed, and there may be a delay during peak utilization times. If a student experiences a mental health emergency before connecting with a counselor, they are to follow the Crisis Intervention protocol below.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the case of an emergent psychiatric crisis, the student may be directed to an Emergency Department for an immediate evaluation. CPS abides by MU\u2019s <em>Student Medical and Mental Health Emergency Policy<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>If there are concerns regarding imminent safety<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>please contact MUPD at 732-571-4444 and if you are off-campus, please dial 988 for the Crisis Lifeline or 911 for emergency services.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"uwill\"><strong>Uwill<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Monmouth has partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/uwill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Uwill,<\/a><a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a> the leading student mental health and wellness support for university students. Uwill offers students free and immediate access to teletherapy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Register\/login to Uwill (www.Uwill.com) using your Monmouth email address for private, secure, confidential, and free support. Students can choose a therapist based on personal preferences, including <em>availability, issue, gender, language, or ethnicity<\/em>. Access is quick and easy and includes night and weekend availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For mental health crises, <a href=\"https:\/\/uwill.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Uwill<\/a> can be reached 24\/7\/365 by calling 833-646-1526<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"food-insecurity-assistance\"><strong>Food Insecurity Assistance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>To combat food insecurity at Monmouth, students can visit the Nest Food Pantry, request meal swipes, grocery gift cards, and request assistance when applying for SNAP benefits. There are a number of local agencies that students can connect with such as <a href=\"https:\/\/fulfillnj.org\/get-help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fulfill Food Bank<\/a>, located in Monmouth County. Please understand we have limited resources for this program and it is intended for students experiencing food insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-nest-food-pantry\"><strong>The Nest Food Pantry<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/sga\/student-government-association\/the-nest\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nest Food Pantry<\/a> was created by the Student Government Association (SGA) to support Monmouth students without meal plans. Students can visit the Nest housed on the lower level of the Student Center during its operating hours and if closed, students can stop by the Office of Student Engagement, located on the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> floor of the Student Center, between 9am-5pm to gain access.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"meal-swipe-request\"><strong>Meal Swipe Request<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>In partnership with Gourmet Dining, Monmouth University has been able to purchase a limited number of meal swipes as part of OSHE\u2019s Hunger Free Campus Grant. Students can fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/etcentral.monmouth.edu\/#\/form\/822\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Support Self-Referral<\/a> form to request meal swipes. This is not intended to be utilized to replace a student meal plan nor for ongoing need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students with existing meal plans are ineligible to request swipes. Meal swipes will be distributed based on student need with a maximum limit of <strong>10 meal swipes<\/strong> distributed per student request each semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Eligibility<\/em>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Must be currently enrolled at Monmouth University<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cannot have an existing meal plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indicate lack of food resources available<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These donated Meal Swipes can be used at the following locations: <em>Magill Dining Hall, the Food Court, and even through Mobile Ordering!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a limited number of donated meals provided each semester and if all donated meals have been distributed, please be sure to visit <a href=\"https:\/\/fulfillnj.org\/get-help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fulfill Food Bank<\/a> for more information on resources.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"grocery-gift-card-request\"><strong>Grocery Gift Card Request<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Students may also request to receive a grocery gift card by filling out the <a href=\"https:\/\/etcentral.monmouth.edu\/#\/form\/822\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Support Self-Referral<\/a>. Gift cards can be distributed in <strong>$50<\/strong> increments with a maximum of <strong>$100<\/strong> per request. Students with existing meal plans are ineligible to receive grocery gift cards with the exception of extenuating circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"nj-snap-benefits\"><strong>NJ SNAP Benefits<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>Students with ongoing needs can learn more about applying for <strong>NJ SNAP<\/strong> benefits. <strong>NJ SNAP<\/strong>, formerly Food Stamps, is New Jersey\u2019s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program that can help low-income families buy the groceries they need to eat healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.gov\/humanservices\/njsnap\/apply\/eligibility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NJ SNAP website<\/a> for eligibility requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"emergency-financial-assistance\"><strong>Emergency Financial Assistance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The <strong>President\u2019s Relief Fund<\/strong> is designed as a one-time emergency financial assistance fund to assist Monmouth students experiencing an unexpected or unavoidable financial crisis which impedes their educational progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must demonstrate serious financial hardship and have exhausted all other available financial aid and resources to be considered. This fund is intended for emergencies that can be addressed or resolved with one-time financial support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can fill out the <a href=\"https:\/\/etcentral.monmouth.edu\/#\/form\/822\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Support Self-Referral<\/a> form to request emergency financial assistance. Please be sure to provide any supporting documentation when submitting your request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples of expenses covered by the <strong>President\u2019s Relief Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Books and other essential academic expenses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replacement of essential personal belongings due to fire or natural disaster<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency medical expenses, prescription glasses, or essential dental work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Examples <strong>NOT<\/strong> covered by the <strong>President\u2019s Relief Fund<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tuition or university fees to include meal plans, housing, health insurance, and study abroad costs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-essential or regularly anticipated utilities such as; cell phone, cable, internet, credit cards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Computer, phone, or technology replacement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replacement of lost or stolen items<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Household furniture costs not associated with an unexpected emergency<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Parking tickets, library fines, or other expenses mistakenly incurred<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Routine car maintenance (gas, oil changes, tires)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Routine medical expenses (hospital bills)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student Conferences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Legal fees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other non-essential expenses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mental Health Support Students can schedule an appointment with a clinical counselor with Counseling and Prevention Services located on the 3rd floor of the Student Center.
