Presently, risk to the Monmouth University community remains low.&nbsp; University officials have been monitoring the situation since the initial outbreak in China.&nbsp; Although our risk was never elevated, we have taken proactive measures to mitigate any potential factors.<\/p>\n<p>For the most up-to-date information on 2019-nCoV, check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/index.html\">the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since the coronavirus concerns in this country are coming at a time when seasonal influenza is at its peak, the best preventive measures for any communicable disease are to keep your immune system boosted:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get plenty of sleep and eat a nutritious diet.<\/li>\n<li>Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.<\/li>\n<li>Cough and sneeze into your elbow or tissue.<\/li>\n<li>Get a seasonal flu vaccine (It is not too late. Check your local pharmacy).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Monmouth University will continue to monitor this situation and take guidance from the New Jersey Department of Health, the CDC, and local county health officials.&nbsp; If the situation warrants, we will follow-up with additional communication.
