Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Updated: Thursday, July 23, 2020

Cloth face coverings are the main protective measure to be used for all employees, students and visitors. Faculty, staff and students have the option of wearing face shields as an adjunctive device to decrease viral transmission in the classroom. When possible, face shields will be offered to people who are unable to wear a face covering due to health reasons.

Faculty and students in clinical majors will need full PPE when working in health care facilities where there is potential for direct contact with COVID-19 positive patients.

The University will maintain a 60-day inventory of PPE and cleaning supplies with pre-established thresholds for re-ordering.

The University’s plans and protocols are subject to change in response to evolving guidance from local, state, and federal government and public health officials. We will continue to update this website regularly and encourage you to check back often for the most up-to-date information.
