Christopher S. DeRosa Ph.D.
Christopher S. DeRosa grew up in Carter- and Reagan-Era northern New Jersey. He earned his B.A. in history at Columbia University in New York, and his Ph.D. in history at Temple University in Philadelphia. In one of his better decisions, he married Katherine Parkin (Professor of History at Monmouth), in 1998. They have two daughters, Vivian (17) and Quinn (13). In 2003, he joined the faculty of Monmouth University, where he holds the rank of Associate Professor and teaches courses on the history of warfare and politics, including ones on the Civil War and Reconstruction, the Second World War, the Cold War, and the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars. He is the author of Political Indoctrination in the U.S. Army and his current research concerns the U.S. Army’s occupation of the defeated rebel states during Reconstruction.
